Making Soaps

Handmade soaps can be used in our own homes to enable us to outsource our needs less and less, and also make wonderful gifts. This year we’ve already made our own soaps in three occasions.

This Saturday we invited Alicia, a Spanish teacher who knows the process to make homemade soap very well. She came early in the morning and taught the children the importance of using our resources and being aware about our impact on the environment.

Since we have several children running around our house all day, and especially on Saturdays, the idea of making soap was a nice way to keep them busy while they were learning practical skills for their lives.
At the end, the result was amazing. After a few days the children of Pachachaca were using their own homemade soaps and the children of the neighborhood received a piece to be used at home!
